As she geared up for the highly-anticipated literary festival, she regarded her participation as an opportunity to take it to the next level and reach out to an even wider audience.

“GPS for the Soul” is a spiritual memoir unlike any other. As most spiritual books are written with technical points, steps, and how-tos, hers is an inspirational read that freely flows on every page and into the hearts of every reader. She imparts the many stories, wisdom, and lessons that her spiritual leader, His Holiness Muhammad Raheem Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, have taught her when she lived and studied at his side for years.

Haynes opens up about her experiences from her global travels, her search for her own self-growth, and spiritual progress in the hopes of showing people that life will always have silver linings that will illuminate brightly amidst the darkness. The chapters dig deeper into the author’s insights and wisdom taught by the wise Sri Lankan mystic and provide inner peace and guidance in forms of anecdotes and poems that wonderfully reaches the soul.

Ultimately, her book seeks to point individuals towards the right spiritual direction especially those who are suffering from various trials in life such as addiction, substance abuse, and other life confusions. Every reader will discover that inner peace and contentment is possible if they embrace and trust the process that will lead them there.

Experienced by readers, Haynes’ spiritual guide and memoir during the 2019 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, brought the celebration into full swing last April 13-14, 2019 at the University of Southern California. Be on the lookout for her next plans!
