Schalke and Nürnberg Swap Shirts For Bundesliga Clash

For many years FC Schalke 04 and 1. FC Nürnberg have shared a unique relationship. So unique, in fact, that for their upcoming Bundesliga clash, they’re swapping shirts with the help of Umbro.  Each club will be supplied with special edition one-off shirts, switching the teams’ templates for the occasion.

The jerseys represent the close and intense fan friendships shared between the two clubs. Many say this started back in the 1980s when members of the “Gelsen-Szene” and the “Red Devils” met on a train while travelling back home from watching their teams.

For the swap, the Schalke away jersey has been printed with the Franconian rake in a light grey stripe pattern with blue trim, adopting the Nürnberg away kit design.  Nürnberg, in turn, will wear Schalke’s famed home kit design, just in their wine-red colouring. Both jerseys will feature the clubs own logos and sponsors.

 Both jerseys are on-sale now giving football fans a chance to grab a piece of true Umbro history.
