EMSL Calgary Adds Lead Testing to Its CALA Accreditation

EMSL Canada, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Calgary, Alberta laboratory has added lead (Pb) analysis in air and solids (paint, soil and wipe) by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) by digestion to its scope of accreditation with the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation Inc. (CALA). Through the CALA accreditation program, EMSL’s Calgary laboratory is compliant with the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025.

In addition to being accredited for lead through CALA, EMSL Calgary is accredited for fibres in air as well as fungi in air and solids by phase contrast microscopy. The Calgary laboratory is an American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA-LAP, LLC) participant in the Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing (EMPAT) for fungi, Industrial Hygiene Proficiency Analytical Testing (IHPAT) for fibres in air and Environmental Lead Proficiency Analytical Testing (ELPAT) for paint chips, soil, dust wipes and air.

EMSL Calgary is also accredited by the National Voluntary Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for bulk asbestos by polarized light microscopy (PLM) and is also certified by the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST). Click here to view the accreditations.
