Nadine Thomas delivers a boxful of wonderful tales in “Grandma’s Magic Box”

The stories are written out of love by a grandmother for her grandsons.

Aiken, South Carolina, USA – WEBWIRE

From a grandmother’s love for her grandkids comes a collection of wonderful adventure stories to be loved by all!

What best gift a grandmother could ever give to her grandchildren than a collection of short adventure stories? Upcoming children’s author Nadine Thomas did just that with “Grandma’s Magic Box” (Xlibris; 2018).

The idea and concept for “Grandma’s Magic Box” began more than 20 years ago when the author’s grandsons were still very small. In her excitement to see them, she thought about writing a story to tell them. And even the characters were named after her grandsons Ryan and Dylan.

“So, I made up a story and I used a box in my mind,” said the author during her guesting on Ric Bratton’s This Week in America radio program, “that my father had given my mother when he bought it overseas in 1946, something like that.”

In “Grandma’s Magic Box,” Ryan and Dylan embark on wonderful adventure trips to different parts of the world with a magic wooden box with strange carvings, which their grandmother had given them as a Christmas present. Each story takes the reader to a different location with facts about that location. The ending of each story is quite a mystery.

What inspired the publication of the children’s book? The author explained: “When I came home in order to keep up this idea (of the story), my husband prompted me I would write a story on email and send it to them. So, that’s how they all accumulated. Finally, my husband convinced me I should put it all in a book and that’s where ‘Grandma’s Magic Box’ came from.”
