Julie Caperton to Lead Wealth Client Solutions for Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced it has named Julie Caperton as head of Wealth Client Solutions for Wealth and Investment Management (WIM). Caperton, a 17-year financial services veteran, most recently served as head of Corporate Development for Wells Fargo. She will be based in Charlotte and will report directly to Jonathan Weiss, head of WIM, and serve as a member of the WIM Operating Committee.

As head of Wealth Client Solutions for WIM, a newly created role, Caperton will be responsible for leading a cross-WIM platform that consolidates Banking, Trust, and Business Sales and Advisory (mergers and acquisitions) offerings, among others. 

“Julie has deep experience managing a large and complex business,” said Weiss. “She will collaborate closely across the leadership team to bring together our independent product teams and solutions into common functions that will drive improvements in client experience, risk management, and profitability.”

In her most recent role as head of Corporate Development, Caperton was responsible for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments across the company. Previously, she held leadership positions within Wells Fargo Securities, including head of Asset Backed Finance, Securitized Products, and Corporate Trust Services. Earlier in her career, Caperton was assistant general counsel at Wachovia Corporation and an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and history from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. Caperton serves as a board member for Wake Forest University School of Law, is the founder and fundraising chair for Christ the King Catholic High School boosters, and a member of the Corporate Development Leadership Network.
