Free Educational Programs This Winter and Spring for Ages From Preschool to Adult!

This winter and spring, the National Archives presents a series of free educational programs for all ages from preschool to adult, on topics ranging from baseball to origami!  These programs will be held in the Boeing Learning Center of the National Archives Museum. Attendees should use the Special Events entrance on Constitution Avenue at 7th Street, NW.  The building is Metro accessible on the Yellow and Green lines, Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter station.

Story Time in the ReSource Room for Pre-Schoolers and Adults
Wednesday, February 13, 10-11 AM
Join us for story time designed for 3-5 year olds and accompanying adults. Children will practice their listening skills, participate in group activities and create a craft. The theme for February is Harriet Tubman.

Women’s History Month Family Day
Saturday, March 16, 10 AM-4 PM
Celebrate the centennial of the 19th Amendment!  Contemplate the issues that were debated, the struggle that ensued, and some of the people who played a part making women’s voting rights possible through hands-on activities for all ages. Hands-on Adult Voting Rights Escape Room!
Wednesday, April 17, 6-8 PM
Race against the clock while you solve puzzles and uncover mysteries about the fight for voting rights in the US. To commemorate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, students from Montgomery College’s Gaming and Simulation Program have designed and created Escape Games exploring voting rights. Extreme Event! Hands-on Adult Workshop

Natural disasters such as earthquakes or flooding can strike communities without warning, and the recovery depends on how well government agencies and civic groups work together under stressful situations. Genealogy Camp for Kids - Ages 12 and up

Ever wondered about your family’s roots and who is on your family tree? This hands-on week-long camp will introduce the basics of genealogy research.
