LATAM Airlines recognized as the world’s most punctual airline in 2018

LATAM Airlines Group, Latin America’s leader in passenger and cargo transport, has placed first in the ‘Mega Airlines’ category of the Official Airline Guide (OAG), which ranks the punctuality of major airlines worldwide based on arrival times. LATAM received this recognition after operating 85.6 percent of its flights on-time during 2018.

For this reason, we work continuously to monitor and improve our on-time performance so that – combined with our unrivalled network of destinations in the region – we continue to be the best travel option in Latin America,” said Enrique Cueto, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group.

The Official Airline Guide (OAG) is an annual ranking and measures more than 58 million flights of the world’s 250 principal airlines. The ranking is based on on-time performance (OTP), which measures how airlines meet the schedules of their published itineraries. For OAG to consider a flight punctual, it must have landed within 15 minutes of its scheduled arrival time.

The ‘Mega Airlines’ category includes the largest 20 operators in the world based on the number of scheduled flights per year.

LATAM Airlines Group operates around 1,300 daily flights worldwide and serves 144 destinations in 27 countries, including domestic operations in six countries in Latin America.
