Farm animals go into space in “The Helium Table” by E. Dorinda Shelley

For the rising children’s author, a journey into space takes off, not from the NASA center but from the farm.

Grand Rapids Ohio, USA – WEBWIRE

A dining table that floats, farm animals in space…, readers will sure have a hard time believing it until they read this story.

Anyone who has read “The Helium Egg” by E. Dorinda Shelley will know that fun and adventure do not and will not stop there. How right they are when the author published “The Helium Table” (PRGott Books Publishing; 2010).

Just like the second book, “The Helium Table” is illustrated by Eleanor Hutton and is equally fun, exciting, and adventurous. After Kath and her mother removed the heavy medical books from the dining room table, it takes flight and floats right out the front door.  It was a helium table, Kath’s father had told them earlier, and the books were there to help hold it down.

All the farm animals jump on the table in an effort to bring it down, but to their surprise they are carried away and up into space, sans the space suits. And so, their journey into space begins.

How will they get back home? Readers will be surprised how they do it when they read “The Helium Table.” Order a copy today through Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0984589805) and Barnes & Noble (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-helium-table-e-dorinda-shelley/1030010409).

About the Author

Dr. Shelley is a retired dermatologist. She grew up in Missouri, spending weekends on a farm with friendly horses. She, her husband, and three children lived for many years on a “farmette” in NW Ohio, surrounded by many of the animals in this story. This is the first in a series of books she has written and Eleanor Hutton has illustrated.
