Team SRC Kawasaki France have already given the 2019 version of the ZX-10RR a test run on the Castellet circuit. Gilles Stafler, team manager of the factory Kawasaki squad, is feeling very confident following that short outing. “The changes for 2019 essentially concern the engine, with an extra 6bhp of power and a torque increase,” says Stafler. “We mounted the 2019 engine on our Bol d’Or bike. David Checa noticed a clear improvement in the way the bike behaved despite a wet track. The engine offers more torque at low rpms and it’s easier to exploit its potential. As to power, let’s see how it does in Spain, where we’ll be testing on a dry track.

Team SRC Kawasaki France plans to achieve maximum reliability by putting the new engine through 4-5,000 km of testing this winter, so they will be all set for the 24 Heures Motos in April 2019.
