Sprint and Google Team To Offer New Gmail™ Mobile Application

Sprint to offer Gmail™ through new downloadable Java application and on-deck WAP site.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — 11/02/2006 - Sprint (NYSE: S) today announced the availability of the mobile version of Gmail™, Google’s popular email service. Gmail™ for mobile devices will be available to Sprint data customers at no additional charge in two forms: a new downloadable Java application and access through a WAP site. Both can be reached directly from the Sprint PCS Vision(SM) or Sprint Power Vision(SM) home page.

The new Gmail™ application gives users fast, rich and synchronized access to Gmail™ from select Sprint phones. Once installed, users are just moments away from reading, replying to, archiving and searching through their Gmail™ messages. With Gmail™ for mobile devices, Sprint customers can even reply-by-call to people whose phone numbers are stored in their Gmail™ account. The application can be downloaded now on most Java-enabled Sprint phones.

For mobile phone users who don’t have Java-enabled phones, Sprint will also provide easy access to the Gmail™ for mobile devices WAP site in the coming weeks. A link to the Gmail™ WAP site will be found on the Sprint PCS Vision(SM) or Sprint Power Vision(SM) home page. The WAP version offers similar Gmail™ functionality through Sprint phone Web browsers.
