Death is said to be inevitable, but the pain of losing someone to death is also unbearable. To manage the loss of his beloved son and his dear sister, Richard Adcock turned to writing. His poems are compiled in his book, “Sometimes I Daydream.”

After the death of his son, Richard was never the same. His everyday life turned to a constant questioning. His sister’s death in 2013 became the moment that pushed him toward poetry. By weaving his emotional stress into words, Richard was able to purge himself of his grief, pain, and loneliness. In “Sometimes I Daydream,” readers will see a raw emotional reflection of Richard’s grief, regrets, and self-questioning that resonates with those whose hearts are troubled.

Every sentimental leaf of the book gives readers a better understanding of what goes on in the minds of people who are grieving. “It also helps them to understand that just because someone doesn’t outright express it, doesn’t mean the person isn’t grieving,” says Richard.
