Novel by Orlando Rivera Exhorts Readers to Look Anew at Life and Money

A book by an ordained metaphysical minister will motivate readers to change the way they look at life and at money.

This book will help readers change the way they look at life and at money.

As an expert in metaphysics, Orlando Rivera imparts messages of possibility, opportunity, and action whenever and wherever he has the chance to speak before an audience. He now delivers his message in the form of a novel titled “Dreams Truths Secrets” (Balboa Press; 2017).
A fiction and financial self-help rolled into one, “Dreams Truths Secrets” is exactly what readers, particularly the unhappy and disillusioned professionals, need to know about overcoming setbacks in life and career. The novel, written in the first person, follows the life of Jack Kinsley, who, reeling from failure and despair, enjoys a second chance, thanks to certain personalities who offer new hope, new knowledge, and much-needed mentorship. The novel opens with the biblical account of the prophet Balaam and his donkey (Numbers 22:23-31).
Jack Kinsley returns to the park of his childhood to seek a new start in his life and career. “After trying so hard to succeed at so many things for so long and not having attained a lot of what I had wanted, perhaps coming back to where it all started with so much promise, in some innocent way, would help me capture that awesome feeling that life is on my side again and that everything could go my way once again. Maybe, just maybe, that was all I needed – to go back to the beginning, to get a new understanding, to get a fresh new perspective.”
Jack reflects on his losses – his house, cars, retirement savings, business, and, worse of all, his wife – and realizes a painful irony. “Everything for which I have strived and struggled in my life, I did for the people and things I care for the most. And yet I am now losing these people and the things precisely because of all my work and my efforts. Not only have I lost all my money, but I am also losing those relationships that are the most important to me because of the pressures of not having money.
“It seems that the more you want something, the more elusive it becomes.”
Jack seems determined to start anew but this time with a different focus. “If I could do all over again, I would begin by following that which made me feel joyous, not be following whatever I thought could make me money.”
He gets his second chance when he meets certain personalities whom he strikes up conversations with on the subject of money. From there, his life begins to change and he moves forward.
Who are these personalities that impact Jack Kinsley’s life and his views on money? What did he learn from them? Readers will have to find that out by getting a copy of Orlando Rivera’s “Dreams Truths Secrets” at the upcoming Miami Book Fair on November 11 to 18, 2018 at Miami Dade College.
