A Nutty Adventure Finds Mother and Daughter in Italy

The great spontaneity of adventures sometimes bring out the nuts in us

How did a 56-year-old mother find herself in bed with a strange Italian? How did she survive riding in a car for 5 hours with a psychic who claimed that she was the devil? What happened when she looked out the window of the moving train to see her daughter clinging to the side? “Two Nuts in Italy” recounts these crazy adventures and much more.
Veteran teacher and author, Sue Ellen Haning, has journeyed through mysteries of fate and serendipity in her book “Two Nuts in Italy,” and she’s sharing that journey with her readers in the 2018 Frankfurt Book Fair from October 10-14, 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Haning’s “Two Nuts in Italy” is a travel memoir that vividly recounts her trip to Italy with her twenty-one-year-old daughter, Jenny. The Hanings embraced the spirit of adventure as they leaped into the great unknown of travel with no itinerary, reservations, or security… and survived!

About the Author
Sue Ellen went from reading to her dolls as a child to teaching children to read and then to teaching adults to read and write. Reading and writing have been passions of Sue Ellen’s for 47 years now. She continues helping anyone of any age learn to read for the first time or simply advance their skills in English.

After a 3-month devil-may-care backpacking trip through the Italian countryside with her daughter, Sue Ellen’s life changed in every way. The adventures, near- misses and other crazy happenings during that summer pushed Sue Ellen out of her tiny comfort zone. “Once I stayed outside my comfort zone long enough, I realized there is a new world out there that I had not experienced, and I now reap the gifts of experiencing life on a deeper level.”  Sue Ellen chronicled her adventures in the acclaimed memoir, Two Nuts in Italy .

Consequently, a new passion emerged. That of helping others step outside their comfort zones. This passion led to a year-long weekly column in the Pagosa Sun and from there another book titled, How to Be a Successful Nut… Your Life Depends on It!

Sue Ellen helps people release their fear of change. She encourages them to look opposite the norm. Most importantly, she encourages all to learn to totally enjoy life!
