HBIS Enters the 2018 China Top 100 Sustainable Development Enterprises List

The China Business Council for Sustainable Development(CBCSD) and  China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) jointly published the 2018 Chinese Enterprise Sustainable Development Index and 2018 China Top 100 Sustainable Development Enterprises List in the 2018 China Top 500 Enterprises Summit. Within the 980 candidates in the competition, HBIS ranks the third together with other 6 enterprises including China Merchants Bank, China Electronics and National Grid, ranking No.2 in steel industry. 

The 2018 Chinese Enterprise Sustainable Development Index is the country’s first report of the sustainable development of Chinese enterprises.

The 2018 China Top 100 Sustainable Development Enterprises list is also the country’s first sustainable development performance list in the year.

This year’s report adopted a Chinese Enterprises Sustainable Development Index System, employing competitiveness, environment and social factors and 68 parameters in eight sectors such as product, management, employees, environment, resources, clients, communities and government. Based on the system, the report selected 980 candidate enterprises in steel, non-ferro, energy & Chemical, general machinery, automobile, construction, consumer, transportation & warehouse, construction material industry, all leading players in their industries. Six steel enterprises entered the competition, they are China Baowu Group, HBIS, Shanxi Tai Steel, An Steel, Magang Steel and Shandong Steel.
