The Adventures of Barney the Farm Dog
A true story about the friendship between a farmer and his Saint Bernard
“What a beautiful book! My three-year-old grandson and one-year-old granddaughter just love it. It is a very gentle book that I enjoy reading to them again and again,” - Amazon customer
Dog is truly man’s best friend. Mary Lynn Swiderski’s illustrated children’s book, Barney the Farm Dog: A True Story, is a true story about how a dog named Barney befriended everyone in the farm.
Retired Michigan State University health and nutrition educator Mary Lynn Swiderski was inspired by the stories told by her late husband, Farmer Vic, about how a Saint Bernard dog named Barney came to his farm. The gentle giant immediately showed his charms that even Cocoa, Farmer Vic’s horse, took a liking to him.
“What a beautiful book! My three-year-old grandson and one-year-old granddaughter just love it. It is a very gentle book that I enjoy reading to them again and again,” writes an Amazon customer.
Barney the Farm Dog is now available in selected online bookstores. Partial proceeds from the sales of the book will be donated to the Michigan Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of the late Farmer Vic, who suffered from the disease and passed away in 2014.
