Australian Mother Brings Fight Against ZIKA to the USA

As Zika Virus and the threat of vector spreading disease sweeps the USA, Lea-anne Crawford and her team from Vanilla Mozi have worked tirelessly for months to get the innovative cream to our shores.

According to the CDC Zika virus infection during pregnancy can cause microcephaly and other severe brain defects in babies, but not every pregnant woman infected with Zika will have a baby with a related health condition at birth. “Insect bites and symptoms arising from those bites are bad enough, but when a disease is involved, there is a whole other level of fear and this is what we want to reduce,” says Lea-anne.

“When looking for a natural bug repellent often people have no alternative but to use chemicals, as often any natural repellent can be ineffective. We need to provide parents and children a natural alternative that works as both a barrier and a repellent” says the passionate founder.
