Charitable Tournament Aims to Kick Out Hunger in Cook County

Chicago, IL – WEBWIRE

On Saturday, June 9, Chicago’s Grant Park will once again be home to the area’s largest charitable kickball tournament that includes 1,000 participants and 60 teams. Hosted by TMC, a division of C.H. Robinson, the 14th annual Kicks for Community tournament benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository, a nonprofit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in Cook County.

Team registration is now open at kicksforcommunity.mytmc.com. Space is limited, so individuals are encouraged to sign up soon.

The cost for a team of 12 players is $1,700 with a $250 deposit, due at registration. The cost for additional team members is $50 per person. Each participant receives a t-shirt, food and beverages throughout the day, as well as access to the Kicks for Community after-party.

After signing up, participants can create a personal fundraising page to collect donations from friends and family before the tournament. Top fundraisers will receive special prizes.

Individuals who want to attend and support the event but are not playing on a team can purchase a $50 spectator pass on the Kicks for Community website.

Since its inception, the kickball tournament has raised more than $1.5 million for local charitable causes. The event is organized and supported by TMC, a division of C.H. Robinson, which is headquartered in Chicago. In addition to the kickball tournament, the organization supports the Greater Chicago Food Depository through monthly employee volunteer events.
