Peter Trumbull Writes a Book About Gun Violence

The book, titled “Gunbucks,” addresses the impact of gun violence on society.

Queensbury, NY, USA – WEBWIRE

Through his book, the author makes a statement against gun violence.

“Gunbucks,” written by Peter Trumbull and superbly illustrated by Riley Trumbull, is a timely read in an era of gun violence -- and perhaps the only book to tackle the subject in satirical poetry.

Mass shooting incidents happen at an alarming rate, in America and around the world.  Compounding the tragedy, many of the dead and shooters are children -- often members of the same family, often friends and acquaintances.  Carnage from strangers in random locations, frequently in public places where we should feel safe – a mall, a theater, a concert -- adds to an atmosphere of fear and mistrust.

In writing the limericks included in “Gunbucks,” Trumbull’s goal was to challenge a society whose law makers are so numb to violence that they respond to mass shootings with a shrug of the shoulders.  Through “Gunbucks,” the author and illustrator hope to inspire readers to take action and help end the stupidity of gun violence partially created by the greed of the National Rifle Asso.

Peter Trumbull’s “Gunbucks” will soon be displayed in the upcoming 2018 New York Rights Fair, happening from May 30 to June 1, 2018, at the Metropolitan Pavilion located at 125 West 18th Street, NYC
