“Apollo’s Lover” is a romantic fact-based novel that will lead readers to recall the thrill and excitement of being in love at a young age.

Godfrey, IL, USA – WEBWIRE

"It felt, somehow, like his image was truly focused, compared to everyone else around, as if he transmitted more reality, and the scene he was the center of seemed to be unrolling inevitably before our eyes, like out of a story, or a movie".

In her thrilling book, “Apollo’s Lover,” Eleonora Duvivier, in a confessional, first person narrative, writes about a fourteen year old girl’s worshiping  a handsome, enigmatic, Frenchman, that unexpectedly starts teaching at the school she attends. Never being in his class, and never having the courage to directly approach him, (until being forced to) she, nonetheless, is elated by openly admiring him.  Her girl friends, however, thinking he was out of reach, are quick to criticize the narrator’s behavior, and, feeling somehow betrayed, by the conviction she has in acting her way, come up with a perfidious plan to  ridicule her, and it gets out of control, giving the book an unexpected ending. The tragedy, that they inadvertently make the narrator part of, joins the spiritual, with the primitive, atavist, dimension of love.

“Apollo’s Lover” is an artfully written story that takes place in sunny Rio de Janeiro, in the wild Sixties. A young woman named Alicia takes us back to her teenage years as she narrates her story remembering the time she was a student, in a French–Brazilian school. The plan created by her  friends, out of jealousy, leads Alicia to show up at the French teacher’s apartment. A horrifying event follows, that changes her life forever. The story goes deep into the struggle of a young adolescent girl to discover herself and to determine the meaning of love.

“Apollo’s Lover” is a good read for a wide range of readers, and for women who can relate to the story of a struggling adolescent love. The story relates also to the spiritual way people can survive traumatic experiences. To grab a copy of this incredible novel, be at the upcoming 2018 New York Rights Fair on May 30, 2018.
