5,000 mobile workers empowered with leading mobility solution

London, UK — 12th October, 2006 — ETT, a UK and Germany-based data communications integrator, and iPass, a global provider of services that unify mobility management, today announced a major three-year contract with Continental AG, one of the world’s leading automotive industry suppliers. The contract involves the global management and provisioning of secure remote access connectivity through the iPass Mobile Office service to 5,000 mobile workers at Continental AG.

The main driver behind Continental AG’s decision was the desire to consolidate several different access solutions being used across the company into one unified mobility platform worldwide. The company wanted a solution that could provide a simple user experience combined with high performance and seamless integration with its VPN solution.

Hans-Peter Schober, Head of Networks and Communication at Continental AG says: “As a global company with a high percentage of mobile workers, having simple and reliable access to the Internet is vital to our productivity and efficiency. We were impressed with the professionalism and expertise which ETT demonstrated and the technical skills they displayed to meet our precise requirements. After choosing the iPass service for its usability, reliability and strong Wi-Fi footprint, we identified ETT as one of the most flexible and committed partners.”

ETT has provided Continental AG with a solution that combines the iPass Mobile Office, which seamlessly integrates access to the world’s largest virtual network, including over 62,000 Wi-Fi hotspots and 3G mobile data, with local home broadband services and Continental AG’s own corporate and third-party connectivity services.

In addition to implementing the iPass solution, ETT will operate six large virtual private network (VPN) gateways on behalf of Continental AG, located across Europe, Asia and the United States together with Cisco clients for all users to terminate mobile traffic into these VPNs.

According to Chris Britton, ETT’s chief executive: “ETT’s ability to deliver a streamlined, one-stop-shop solution to Continental AG was another critical factor in winning the contract. Being able to provide the convenience of a single point of contact for everything from customer support to billing was seen as a key advantage.”

The announcement marks the culmination of a successful long-term association between the two companies. It follows an extensive trial period involving hundreds of users across Germany, supported by dedicated local language account team and service management from ETT’s Düsseldorf-based sales office.

“For Continental AG, enabling secure mobile connectivity for their employees worldwide is critical to their business and having a consistent and easy to use solution is the key requirement for this project”, said Florian Schiebl, Managing Director, iPass Deutschland GmbH. “Our collaboration with ETT is making for a formidable partnership. This deal is a testament to their technical expertise and deep understanding of the enterprise market.”
