Fujifilm Partners with Fight Colorectal Cancer as a Sponsor of “One Million Strong”

Allendale, N.J. – WEBWIRE

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting early detection of colon cancer, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. - Endoscopy today announced its partnership with Fight Colorectal Cancer, the leading colorectal cancer advocacy organization. The two organizations will support a national movement called “One Million Strong” that brings together the strength of more than one million colorectal cancer survivors living in the United States.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men and women in the U.S. but it is highly preventable. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 60 percent of deaths from colorectal cancer could be avoided with screening.

“Fujifilm is a pioneer in developing innovative endoscopic devices designed to provide physicians with better imaging to diagnose disease at its earliest stage,” said Keiichi Nagata, Division President, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. - Endoscopy. “We look forward to supporting Fight Colorectal Cancer with the common goal of preventing disease through enhanced screening capabilities and early diagnosis.”

The partnership between Fujifilm and Fight Colorectal Cancer will peak in March 2018, kicking off Colon Cancer Awareness Month as Fujifilm sponsors Fight Colorectal Cancer’s sixth annual ‘One Million Strong’ campaign. Fujifilm will participate in a NASDAQ bell ringing ceremony in New York City on February 28, 2018, and will sponsor Fight Colorectal Cancer’s awareness efforts, which include a kick-off event in Los Angeles, California, on March 8, 2018.

“We are extremely grateful to have the support of Fujifilm toward our One Million Strong campaign in 2018,” said Anjee Davis, president of Fight CRC. “This movement is all about empowering survivors to have courage - the courage to share their stories, raise their voices and educate their family members and friends about screening. Fujifilm’s support will help us reach even more people through this year’s campaign.”
