A fun and innovative way to help children appreciate geometry and mathematics in general

Carlos Lupton has thought of a fun and better idea to help children get familiar with geometry and above all eliminate “math anxiety”: a children’s story and activity book with characters out of geometric figures. The title of the book is “The Wonderful World of Genie Geometry Story Book.”
The book is divided into two parts: a story book and a picture book (work book). It also comes with a glossary to help young readers understand mathematical/geometric terms and concepts.
“The Wonderful World of Genie Geometry Story Book” is a fun family story about Genie Geometry, a talkative little girl. It tells about the “mathematical relationships” that bind the members of Genie’s family: Con-Groovy Geometry, her father; Pythagoras Geometry, her grandfather; the former Trulia Right Angle, her grandmother; and other characters with names that suit them.
Each chapter or character is accompanied with or complimented with an activity in the picture book, which a young reader should flip over to every time he/she comes across a new character. What the young reader has to do is to draw the character – an innovative way to instill geometric concepts into young minds.
The book serves a dual-purpose: introduce children to geometry early to develop an affinity with the subject and mathematics in general and assist teachers and even parents in eliminating “math anxiety” in children.
“The Wonderful World of Genie Geometry: Story Book and Picture Book” will be one of the many children and educational books that  readers will find displayed in the upcoming 2018 Bologna Book Fair on February 26, 2108.

About the Author
Carlos Lupton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. He is concerned with the “math anxiety” that is so prevalent in the American youth. He designed the book “The Wonderful World of Genie Geometry,” with a fun, interactive format. The book is in a fairy tale format designed to introduce young learners, between the ages of five and eight, to the jargon of geometry. On the flip side of the fairy tale (Story book) is the Picture book that is a coloring book that lets the learners draw their own version of each character in the Story book.

Lupton hopes to capture the attention of home-schoolers, and those educators who have the academic freedom to use alternative teaching tools such as this book.

His book, “The Wonderful World of Genie Geometry,” has received three 5-Star reviews from Reader’s Favorite reviewers: Jack Magnus, Valerie Rouse, and Jane Finch posted above.  The 3 reviews can be read on Amazon under the title of the book.
