2006-09-27 - Dallas - Chevrolet will unveil its new truck at the State Fair of Texas, opening September 29, at one of the country’s largest fairs. The all-new 2007 Silverado - the newest generation of the industry’s most dependable pick truck is the strongest Silverado yet, delivering segment-best power and fuel economy.

Chevrolet, as the official vehicle of the State Fair of Texas, will offer attendees an array of activities free and fun for the whole family. Along with an oversized auto show and truck display located on the fair grounds, visitors to the fair can participate in a Chevrolet Ride and Drive, enjoy free music every weekend from some of music’s biggest entertainers and see interactive exhibits showcasing NASCAR and other fun Chevrolet activities.
Auto Show
What’s new for 2007? Come into the domestic Automotive Building to see the full lineup of 2007 vehicles Chevrolet has to offer. Texas trucks - Texas style - see the all-new Silverado, with a new design, re-engineered and a comfortable ride. Stretch out in the SUV/truck Avalanche also newly designed for 2007. Or, look at the new improved 2007 Tahoe released earlier this year.

Chevy Ride & Drive
Attendees don’t have to buy a midway ticket to take a spin in a new Chevy car or truck. Drivers 21-years or older can drive their favorite Chevrolet in the Chevy Ride & Drive, located near Gate 11. Choose from a large selection of cars and trucks and anything in between including large and mid-sized SUVs. The area is open daily and free for qualified licensed drivers.
Jimmie Johnson - "Hands On" Promotion
Who will be the last one standing? Lowe’s Home Improvement, Texas Motor Speedway and Chevrolet will award a lucky race fan a new Monte Carlo. Watch as ten finalists wait out their chance for the new car during the "Hands On" promotion. Beginning Friday, September 29 in the Chevy Test Drive area, finalists will place their hands on the specially wrapped #48 Monte Carlo and the last contestant with hands on will win the car.
Chevy Racing Tour
A leader in NASCAR and winner of the 2006 Manufacturer’s Cup, Chevrolet invites race fans and car enthusiasts to stroll through the Chevy Racing Tour. Come face to face with NASCAR show cars and trucks just like the ones that hit the tracks throughout the season. The exhibit will be onsite from September 28 through October 12 and is open daily and free.
Chevy Winner’s Circle
Step inside the Chevrolet Winner’s Circle and pose with a Chevy NASCAR Craftsman Show Truck and SMILE! Have your souvenir photo taken with Chevy’s Silverado Show truck daily from October 15 - October 22. Photo opportunities will be offered daily and are free.
