BASF Coatings Inc. receives award from Nissan as best supplier

Great Success on the Philippines

Münster/Alabang. BASF Coatings, Inc. receives a plaque of commendation from Nissan Motors Philippines, Inc. as a QCD Top Performer for the year 2005. This is in grateful recognition of BCP’s exemplary performance in Quality, Delivery and Cost and continuous support to NMPI.

BASF was one of the recipients of the QCD award along with 9 other suppliers from different fields of supply. The ten awardees were chosen from NMPI’s pool of more than 60 local suppliers. This award was given in a ceremony in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines. It was presented to Marcelino M. Quismundo, President of BASF Coatings Inc. by NMPI’s President & CEO, Leman Lee, along with the presence of the following Nissan officials namely Adair Chang, Vice President-Manufacturing and Jess Gopez, Purchasing Manager.

BASF has been a reliable supplier of paints to NMPI since they started operations in September 1983. BASF has a market share of 90% on topcoats and clear coat. “As part of our commitment to better serve NMPI, BASF has assigned a dedicated technical service person on site. The main task of the technical service person is to monitor the use of BASF paints in the paint shop giving solutions and helping them in the improvement of their processes that leads to cost reduction”, explains Quismundo.

NMPI is currently building passenger cars namely Cefiro and Sentra Exalta and Nissan X-Trail. They also market completely built vehicles such as Verita, and Serena.
