“If the walls of a house could talk, they would have so much to say about the lives of their inhabitants. And so houses are very important to me, especially older houses, as an instrument of learning about the past. The way it was will most likely be the way it will be as history does repeat itself, so if we listen to the past, we can learn more and possible build a better future!”

Richard Seaberg’s Hope Town: Reality of a Dream tells the philosophy and the history of a Bahamian village called the Hope Town. This book is drawn from the author’s personal experiences and creative talents.

Hope Town: Reality of a Dream is structured into two parts. The first part transports its readers to the islands of the Bahamas during the late 1700s in a tale featuring early settlers called the loyalists. The second part features Seaberg’s original ink drawings of the oldest houses of the village. The book highlights the architecture of the older house in the Bahamas to inspire travelers, island-cruising enthusiasts, architectural-history readers, and island dreamers.
