ORLANDO, FL, September 15, 2006 -- Approximately 750 Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] employees on Saturday, September 16 will take part in the Heart of Florida United Way’s Day of Caring, making it Lockheed Martin’s largest single-company effort for the Central Florida event for the third consecutive year.

This record number of Lockheed Martin volunteers will be painting, cleaning and renovating the Edgewood Children’s Ranch, a facility where at-risk youth are given the opportunity to live in a family setting with stable surrogate parents and to receive the personal attention they need in the classroom to build their confidence and bring them up to their grade level in school. Some of the younger residents have volunteered to give Lockheed Martin employees a guided tour of the ranch.

“Lockheed Martin employees are passionate about giving back to the Central Florida community and enjoy participating in the annual United Way Day of Caring,” said Bob Costello, Executive Champion for the 2006 Lockheed Martin Central Florida Charitable Giving Campaign. “This year marks our 50th anniversary in Central Florida, and Lockheed Martin employees are proud to continue our long legacy of building a better community by lending a helping hand to the residents and staff of the Edgewood Children’s Ranch.”

Employees will volunteer Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Edgewood Children’s Ranch is located on the shores of Lake Hiawassee in Southwest Orlando at 1451 Edgewood Ranch Road. Bubbalous’ Bodacious Barbeque has contributed to the food and refreshments that will be served to employees throughout the day.

Since establishing an Orlando office in 1956, the employees of Lockheed Martin have been committed to improving the community in which they live and work.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 135,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2005 sales of $37.2 billion.
