“I consider this a book for all ages. It is especially recommended for teens and young adults who may be experiencing life’s tough times. Readers will not only enjoy an adventure-mystery story but may also gather some important life lessons to cherish,”

We don’t know what the future holds. Although we have plans for what we’re going to do or who we will become, there is no guarantee that everything we want will happen. But if you trust God’s will and God’s way, you’re in the best of hands. This is the lesson learned by a young boy named Wiley, the protagonist in Ruth Anderson Lawler’s book entitled Kinsman Redeemer.

Kinsman Redeemer is the story of Wiley, a thirteen-year-old English boy who is tagged as the Son of Nobody. He is determined to become a knight even though his circumstances in life make it nearly impossible. When King Svein Forkbeard of Denmark goes to Rockhaven Castle in the spring of 1013, young Wiley sneaks into the great hall to see England’s fearsome enemies up close. But the boy is recognized by two Danes he’s never met, and so begins a run for his life that will change his future forever.

When the Danes catch up with him again, he is taken to Denmark and learns his true identity. There he gains two unexpected allies in King Svein’s son Knute, seventeen, and Svein’s sister-in-law, Lady Freya, who help him escape the wrath of the king. Together, they and his friends from England are his companions as he probes the mysteries of a lady underground, his own beginnings, a missing parchment, the enigma of God’s foreknowledge, and the nature of evil.

“I consider this a book for all ages. It is especially recommended for teens and young adults who may be experiencing life’s tough times. Readers will not only enjoy an adventure-mystery story but may also gather some important life lessons to cherish,” says Ruth, the author.

The book has received many accolades from its readers. One of the reviews, written by Earl Osborn, says, “Kept me guessing to the end and I couldn’t put it down. Fascinating, full of adventure, and well written. A clear presentation of the Biblical kinsman redeemer.”

A new copy of the book is republished under LitFire Publishing.
