Community Impact Printing Chooses Fujifilm Prepress Solutions

Hanover Park, IL, USA – WEBWIRE

Environmentally friendly technology is also a key consideration in building a new printing plant in Texas, and Fujifilm has the right solutions for that

Hanover Park, IL, June 8, 2016  - Community Impact Printing, a Pflugerville, Texas-based news organization, taps into Fujifilm for no-process thermal CTP imaging technology, no-process thermal plates and workflow for their new press project. Reliability, efficiency and environment-friendly technology were the key factors for the decision makers at Community Impact to purchase Fujifilm’s product portfolio, which will complement their new Goss Magnum Compact press project.

Community Impact selected Fujifilm/Screen thermal CTP imaging technology in conjunction with SUPERIA Ecomaxx-TN no-process thermal plates. Plate processing equipment is not needed for the SUPERIA plate technology because it is a true no-process printing plate technology. The Fujifilm SUPERIA system will help reduce the consumption of paper and ink while conserving energy, lowering emissions and reducing water consumption. These savings, along with improved productivity through lower labor requirements, will contribute to improved profits. The two CTP devices feature external drum imaging technology combined with high-precision optics. The model is equipped with an auto-loader to automate plate supply, enable long periods of continuous production and significantly improve throughput rates for faster plate production.

Fujifilm/PF Media workflow WebPairer will be the link between pre-press and press. WebPairer is a complete page pairing and file optimization application ideal to meet the production needs for Community Impact. It is an intelligent prepress and production management software with an automation system built around a powerful PDF processing engine. WebPairer is a system that covers the gamut from file acquisition, to file delivery and output control and everything in-between.

Community Impact Newspaper is Texas’ fastest-growing news organization and the most widely distributed news source for relevant and useful information at the community level. Currently a new production building is being constructed that will house the new Goss Magnum Compact press and its accompanying state-of-the-art equipment and software.

“I wanted a simple, clean, automated plating solution that would provide staffing, water and energy cost savings,” said David Ludwick, General Manager, Community Impact Printing. “With Fujifilm, we found a partner that supports all our production and efficiency needs without compromising quality.”

The workflow is scheduled to be installed and tested in June 2016. The plate production testing is planned for July 2016, and print tests start in August 2016. Community Impact plans to have the new facility fully operational in September of 2016.

“Environmentally friendly technology is also a key consideration in building a new printing plant in Texas, and Fujifilm has the right solutions for that,” adds Ludwick.
