9/11 Memories for a Greater Cause to be Featured in Guadalajara

Published in 2009, “We Remember: Stories of September 11, 2001 Victims Written by Families” by Maureen Crethan Santora, is a collection of stories that describes the lives of some of the victims as they were growing up.

When she decided to begin the project of collecting stories, Santora recalled: “It was difficult to request family members to write about their lost loved ones. I was aware that wounds would be opened; but I also knew that when the stories were written, all who participated would be glad that they made an effort.”

Dedicated to all the victims who died on September 11, 2001, the proceeds of the compilation will be donated to the NYC Firefighter Brotherhood Foundation.

“We Remember” will be featured at the 2015 Guadalajara International Book Fair which will be held on November 28-December 6, 2015 at the Expo Guadalajara exhibition center in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Maureen Crethan Santora is a sought-after advocate for families who lost their loved ones in 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. With twenty-seven years of service, she retired from NYC Public School with two Teacher of the Year awards. She and her husband, Al, established the Firefighter Christopher Santora Educational Fund.
