Logic PD Executive to Share Perspective on Emerging Growth Models at MN MedTech Conference

Logic PD, a complete product lifecycle solutions company for the digital world, today announced that Jackie Torfin, vice president of quality assurance will be speaking at the upcoming MN MedTech Week Conference held Nov. 4-5, 2015 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Presenting alongside David Amor, managing partner and principal from Medgineering and QuickConsult, as part of the “Medical Innovation: Transforming Patient-Centered Technology into a Usable Business Case,” Torfin will discuss the evolution in healthcare that must take place to support the shift to patient and caregiver centric products and services. This interactive session will be held Nov. 5 from 10:45 -11:45 a.m.

“As digital becomes more predominant in healthcare and devices become connected, medical device manufactures are having to not only evolve their business model but need to look at new decision makers and users,” explained Torfin. “The medical device company of tomorrow recognizes that the value is not simply in the device but also in the data the device generates.”

Entitled “Emerging Models of Business Services Integrated with Medical Device Products,” Amor and Torfin’s session will explore how to move from just a products company that informs and diagnoses to a data-driven company that can control, predict and automate.
The MN MedTech Week conference is the consolidation of two of Minnesota’s long standing medtech device conferences and exhibitions: LifeScience Alley and MD&M Minneapolis.

About Jackie Torfin
As the Vice President of Quality Assurance, Jackie Torfin is responsible for quality process and quality assurance activities at Logic PD. Torfin has more than two decades of experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance and quality systems. Prior to joining Logic PD, she was Vice President of Regulatory and Quality at Heraeus Medical Components. In this capacity, Torfin also served as Compliance Officer and head of contract management for the organization. During her career, she has held quality-related positions at Arizant Healthcare, St. Jude Medical, Genmab, PDL BioPharma, CIMA Labs and Beckman Coulter. Her dedication to quality extends to her role as an adjunct faculty member in St. Cloud State University’s Master of Medical Technology Quality program. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Augsburg College.
