Connoisseurs Scotland, the marketing group behind 30 of Scotland’s finest hotels, has teamed up with The Carter Company to offer a ’cycling butler’ service as part of their ultimate luxury bicycle tours around Scotland.

The concept of the cycling buter was conceived by Connoisseurs Scotland and The Carter Company to create the ultimate in Scottish luxury cycle tours.  

Cycling guests on these Scottish Cycling Tours will have the opportunity to stay at some of the finest five star hotels in Scotland whilst enjoying the exclusive services of their very own cycling butler.


The services of the cycling butler will include:

  • Set up pit stops along the route, with healthy snacks, hot drinks, energy bars, and drinks. Mark the route for ease of navigating.
  • Transport wet weather gear and have dry towels on hand.
  • Give advice on the best spots to take pictures.
  • Pick up any weary cyclists and transfer them to the destination hotel.
  • Inform on the latest weather forecasts.
  • Arrange services such as a massage at the end of the day.


Luxury bicycles such as Cervelos and De Rosa can be arranged for those who prefer the very best in cycling technology. There is also the option of hiring e-bikes for those who want to enjoy the scenery without too much huffing and puffing!These stunning self-guided cycling tours take place in some of the most scenic regions in Scotland; they range from a 50 mile per day road cycling trip with some strenuous climbs, to a more genteel 4 night trip in the Highlands on undulating roads. For both trips, cyclists will be met on arrival by The Carter Company who will look after every stage of the process including luggage transfers.

A Highland Fling is a leisurely 4 night cycling trip circular from Inverness. The tour offers a wonderful variety of scenery, from cultural cities to tiny fishing villages, and gorgeous stretches of countryside in between. Pedal through the magical setting of Loch Ness, where you might spot the legendary monster; pretty villages like Forres, Nairn with its stunning sandy beach and harbour, and the famous eco-community at Findhorn; the historic battlefield of Culloden; and the most romantic castle in the Highlands – Cawdor Castle, which Shakespeare chose for the setting of Macbeth. You will stay in the hip Rocpool Reserve & Chez Roux, and Boath House with its Michelin starred restaurant.You will be provided with a holiday Adventure Handbook, route directions, OS maps, host meet and brief, luggage transfer and a return transfer from Nairn to Inverness. The Grand Tour is an epic 5 night road cycling trip with 3,000 – 3,500 feet of climbing on each of the four days. The route traverses the full range of iconic Scottish landscapes, from epic mountains and lochs to forests and sweeping sand dunes.
