Logic PD Adds Depth in Systems Engineering Leadership with Addition of Brian Van Batavia

Logic PD, a complete product lifecycle solutions company for the digital world, announced today that Brian Van Batavia has joined the company as Director of Systems Engineering.

In this leadership role at Logic PD, Van Batavia will be applying his broad multi-discipline experience solving complex systems problems to meet user, business and technical needs. He will report to Mona Phaff, vice president of design and engineering.

A seasoned engineer, Van Batavia has more than two decades of experience in product development for some of the industry’s most innovative engineering organizations. He joins Logic PD from Polaris Industries where he served as Program Leader, responsible for the overall success of assigned projects including managing cross-functional teams to meet project objectives from requirements development to product launch.

Prior to Polaris, Van Batavia spent seven years at Eaton Corporation first as a Lead Engineer of Embedded Controls and most recently as an Engineering Specialist, Systems and Architecture where he led systems-level engineering activities related to the development of hybrid power systems for performance, durability and environmental requirements. Van Batavia began his career at MTS Systems as a Software Engineer where his focus was on the real-time control of complex custom test equipment.

Throughout his career, Van Batavia has focused on the latest technology for a variety of products and services, building a wealth of expertise on electric and hybrid vehicle architecture, alternative energy systems, electro-mechanical systems product development and connected vehicle systems innovation. He holds a patent for his Hybrid Hydraulic Drive System Architecture and has authored several articles related to energy management and control for hydraulic vehicles. In 2010, Van Batavia was recognized for his work in Embedded Controls by Control Engineering magazine with its 40 Under 40 award.

A resident of Delano, Minn., Van Batavia has a Master of Engineering degree from Purdue University and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota – Duluth. He is a Certified Systems Engineering Professional through the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and maintains membership in INCOSE, SAE and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).
