IP Firms Partner to Help Mortgage Company Better Service Customers

ANCHORAGE, Alaska and OTTAWA, Canada, September 7, 2006 – Mitel® is receiving some enthusiastic northern exposure in Alaska thanks to a partnership with California-based Foundry Networks®, Inc (NASDAQ: FDRY), Mitel Platinum solution provider TekMate and Alaska-based Residential Mortgage.

Mitel was asked to help Residential Mortgage better serve its many clients across the state by enhancing communications between the head office in Anchorage and its geographically dispersed employees across the state. The implementation of the new system has resulted in improved business efficiencies for better customer service.

“Residential Mortgage has seven offices across the state, and it’s important that all the players are on the same page even if they are hundreds of miles apart from each other,” said Residential Mortgage IT director Clinton Jones. “That’s why Mitel’s Teleworker Solution made so much sense. Employees can now communicate through simple four-digit extensions regardless of their location, whereas previously they had to dial ten-digit phone numbers.”

Mitel’s 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP), IP phones, Mitel Enterprise Manager, Mitel Messaging Server and the Mitel Teleworker Solution connects to two Foundry FastIron® Edge X Series 448 for their core network infrastructure. Foundry’s FastIron Edge 2402-POE and FastIron Edge 4802-POE switches reside at the network’s edge to maximize the advantages of Power over Ethernet (PoE), while the IronPoint™ 200 Access Points provide secure enterprise class wireless access within the offices.

Foundry’s IronView Network Manager, a Java-based centralized management platform, provides Residential Mortgage with full visibility of all traffic flow types and the tools to manage and configure the Foundry line of wired and wireless network equipment to maximize bandwidth utilization and network performance. Foundry’s INM leverages sFlow® traffic monitoring, embedded in Foundry switches and routers, and open source security applications and tools, such as Snort®, to deliver highly scalable security and threat mitigation, without the cost or performance degradation of additional security sensors.
