NCR Unveils Orderman7 Mobile POS Solution for the Hospitality Industry

Award-winning NCR Orderman7 handhelds empower employees with secure, convenient ordering and payment anywhere in the operation

Duluth, Ga. – WEBWIRE

NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, today announced the North American launch of the NCR Orderman7, its newest mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution.

Orderman7 handheld devices create efficiencies, boost productivity and reshape the guest experience. Employees are able to take orders and payment at the table or in-seats at theaters, to line-bust during peak traffic periods and to quickly and easily serve guests in bars and nightclubs.

In fact, Orderman7 recently earned a Red Dot Product Design Award. The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s most prestigious awards for product design. Orderman was among a select group of restaurant technology solutions recognized as part of this year’s awards.

“Productivity gains and delivering an amazing customer experience continue to be the key drivers of technology investments in the hospitality industry,” said Paul Langenbahn, president, NCR Hospitality. “The NCR Orderman7 is ideal for restaurants and cinemas of any size looking to embrace mobile innovations and transform the customer experience.”

With Orderman7’s large, high-resolution 5-inch HD display, users can assist customers in all types of situations, even in direct sunlight. The Orderman7 gives hospitality employees a “smartphone-like” experience combined with shock-resistant and water-tight design, while featuring programmable side buttons for the most frequently used functions.

In North America, Orderman7 runs Aloha Mobile, a feature-rich POS software that gives servers full mobile access to many of the robust features of the Aloha POS. The user interface (UI) for Aloha Mobile mirrors the well-known UI of the Aloha POS software. This makes it fast and easy for restaurants to train staff and have them start taking tableside orders and payments immediately and very efficiently.

The Orderman7 handheld, when operating with Aloha Mobile, is a secure Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) validated solution.

“NCR Orderman7 has delivered great results for our business and ultimately our customers,” says Justin Smith, Director of Information Systems and Technology, Bagger Dave’s. “Our servers are using an Orderman7 device to place orders and receive payment at the table as well as to cover larger sections without sacrificing customer service.”

The Orderman7 is being unveiled at the National Restaurant Association (NRA) show (May 16-19; NCR booth #6229) in Chicago at McCormick Place, where the company is showcasing the latest in restaurant technology innovation including its cloud, software and hardware solutions.
