"San Mateo County Fair is the best family value this summer," said Chris Carpenter, SVP & General Manager San Mateo County Event Center.

The 81st Annual San Mateo County Fair kicks off in just 30 days, just one month away. The Fair has new programs and attractions for moms, kids, dads and families to help them enjoy their Fair experience the moment they walk on the grounds.

The purchase of a Fair ticket includes admission to a Free concert while a season pass includes all nine days of the Fair and all concerts, exhibits and attractions. Closing the Fair is Dia de la Feria, a celebration of the Ba Area’s Hispanic cultural influence with special entertainment and music played throughout the grounds. Single Fair tickets start at $8. Season Passes start at $25.

Here are a few tips and highlights from the Fair staff:

NEW! – Don’t Miss these new fun attractions: Butterfly Adventures, where kids can feed butterflies; The Buck Trout Show, an interactive camping experience for kids featuring puppet Buck Trout, who talks about the joys of the outdoors. Brad’s World Reptiles – reptiles, amphibians and more, and Pirate Captain Spareribs, a fun filled pirate adventure.

Fair Food  – Alligator on a Stick, Fried Kool Aid, and The Healthy Food Fare – Our Healthy Food Fare initiative is back with healthy choices being provided by many Fair vendors. But don’t worry your Fair favorites will still be available from barbeque to funnel cakes.

Science, Technology, DIY Science Exhibits are back – Kids get hands on experience with innovative new concepts and devices such as 3-D printers. See how much fun a Do It Yourself environment can be for kids!
