First 800 MHZ P25 Hosted Solution Receives FCC Approval for North Texas

Telecommunication Properties, Inc. “TPI” stated that it has received regulatory approval from the Federal Communication Commission for an 800 MHZ P25 overlay network for North Texas. 

Governments are no longer required to buy, build, own, and operate costly P25 radio networks in-house. TPI’s 800 MHZ Carrier Hosted P25 service has demonstrated and proven to be more reliable, more scalable, more interoperable, more secure and  more affordable than government owned P25 systems. Specifically the FCC approved TPI to build, own and operate a multi-channel wide area 800 MHZ P25 overlay network.

TPI’s regulatory authority for 800 MHZ P25 covers most of North Texas and will be used to deliver a variety of hosted P25 network services  to governmental agencies, first responders and other public safety agencies. Specifically small and medium municipalities are challenged with limited resources when migrating to a P25 network. They can attempt to build their own P25 network but often lack the required spectrum or the budget to operate these sophisticated digital networks. TPI’s 800 MHz P25 hosted solution provides choices with a flexible migration path for these municipalities.
