AnesthesiaOS v.2.0 Achieves ONC HIT 2014 Edition Modular EHR Certification from ICSA Labs

 
Houston, TX – February 28 - Medical Information Records, LLC (MIR) -- creator of AnesthesiaOS, a leading Anesthesia Information Management System (AIMS) company that offers a robust, one of a kind AIMS built for simplicity, intuitiveness and speed -- announced that AnesthesiaOS, v.2.0 has achieved ONC HIT 2014 Edition Ambulatory EHR certification. The certification designates that the software is capable of supporting eligible providers with meeting the Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).  AnesthesiaOS was certified on January 26, 2015 by ICSA Labs, an Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) and is compliant in accordance with applicable criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).
 
ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon, offers vendor-neutral testing and certification.  ONC HIT 2014 Edition Certification is granted to those technologies that are capable of meeting the more rigorous testing criteria developed to support providers and hospitals who wish to demonstrate Stage 2 Meaningful Use, which focuses on the capability of health IT to deliver higher quality patient care and exchange clinical information securely.
 
The CMS EHR Incentive Programs were established by the government to promote use of technology in healthcare by offering rewards and establishing penalties to eligible hospitals, healthcare professionals, and organizations.  They provide financial incentives for the “Meaningful Use” of certified EHR technology to improve patient care. To receive an EHR incentive payment, providers have to show that they are “meaningfully using” their EHRs by meeting thresholds for a number of objectives. CMS has established the objectives for “meaningful use” that eligible professionals, eligible hospitals, and critical access hospitals must meet in order to receive an incentive payment. 
 
With this certification, AnesthesiaOS is now listed on ICSA Labs’ online certified product directory and AnesthesiaOS, v.2.0 is considered certified to the ONC HIT 2014 Edition ambulatory criteria designed to support clients and partners with addressing their Meaningful Use requirements.

About ONC Certification
The ONC Certified Health Information Technology (HIT) program tests and certifies that HIT is capable of meeting the 2014 Edition criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). The certifications include Complete EHRs, which meet all of the 2014 Edition criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology and EHR Modules, which meet one or more — but not all — of the criteria.
