“Author gives great insights to help understand emotions and tools to influence our reaction to them. He introduced and explained many topics in a concise and understandable way. I will work toward recognizing emotional habits with the goal of turning them into emotional alerts. I really appreciate that the author helps us with tools to gain power over how we react to our emotions. His personal story is fascinating and tragic, he is brave to share such details. I would appreciate more “case studies” from a wider variety of subjects, although I am sure privacy issues makes them difficult to obtain. It is a relatively quick read and does not require much additional work from the reader. I would recommend it to people who want to have better relationships by understanding their emotions.” – Van F.

“This book is both entertaining and informative! Dr. Carlyle writes in such a way that the reader can understand, relate and enjoy the book. I have learned several new techniques for identifying my emotions. Before reading this book I struggled with staying in the moment. I used to allow events of my past to cloud my judgement and reactions to current situations. I highly recommend this book to anyone that has ever acted in a way they later looked back on and thought ‘I didn’t handle that so well!’” – Michael
