First Tennessee names new Commercial Banking Leader

Renee Drake, a veteran banker with more than 30 years of experience, is the new executive vice president for commercial banking at First Tennessee Bank in Nashville.

She will succeed Tony Thompson, who is now the president of First Tennessee’s newest community banking market of Columbia, Tenn.

”Drake most recently served as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking and Wealth Management Executive for the Tennessee affiliate of Fifth Third Bank.Prior to joining Fifth Third, Drake spent 16 years with SunTrust Bank where she held leadership positions in the Commercial and Corporate Banking, and the Private Wealth Management lines of business. Earlier in her career she worked for Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a Commercial Banking Team Lead. Drake is a graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where she received her BSBA and an MBA.

Drake has served on the Boards of the United Way of Middle TN and Salvation Army and is currently a member of the downtown Rotary. She is a graduate of Leadership Nashville and was recognized by the Nashville Business Journal in 2010 as one of their “Women of Influence” and again in 2011 as a “Power Leader in Banking.”
