"As you end your Country Christmas, you will most enjoy that you have met the owners of these small shops and are carrying home items made with care by their hands. Truly an old fashioned experience." – Audrey Cross Gambino, Vintner at Villa Milagro Vineyards

FINESVILLE, NJ: Nestled between Pohatcong Mountain and Riegel Ridge where the Musconetcong River ends it journey and joins the great Delaware River to divide New Jersey from Pennsylvania, lies an area of panoramic river views.  Huddled in the valley along the banks of the convergence of these two great rivers you will find a handful of shops offering unique, locally grown, handcrafted, homemade gifts, wine and food to get or to give.

On  December 13-14, and December 20-21, shops in this little “River View Valley” will welcome guests to enjoy a County Christmas.  Beginning at the Stone Cottage Soapworks & Artisan Emporium in Warren Glen, guests will find fragrant handmade soaps and other handcrafts.  Continuing west, they can stop by the Warren Glen Deli for a quick coffee or snack.  Then down the road to HumDinger Alpacas for soft alpaca scarves, blankets and socks.

Then over the river and up the vale to Charlie Brown’s Christmas trees where you can pick and cut your own tree.  Back across the river to Chelsea Forge Antiques for a sip of hot cider and unique home décor items.  Drive up a winding farm lane overlooking the Delaware River to sample Feliz Navidad and other fine wines and receive a gift tree ornament at Villa Milagro Vineyards.

Then cross over the Delaware on the one hundred year old Riegelsville Bridge, built by John Roebling, architect of the Brooklyn Bridge, to visit Riegelsville, PA.  There you can enjoy an elegant meal at the Riegelsville Inn or have a cup of delicious soup and a sandwich at Fig Tree Market & Catering.  Next door is Dalla Terra Home & Lifestyle Boutique with lovely decorating items for your home.  And down the street is Village Flowers with fresh, fragrant floral arrangements for the holiday.  Finish you trip to the country with a stop at Trauger’s Farm Market for a homemade pie.

As you end your Country Christmas, you will most enjoy that you have met the owners of these small shops and are carrying home items made with care by their hands.  Truly an old fashioned experience.
