Nursing2006 Invites Nurses to Participate in Infection Control Survey

Nurses’ crucial role in preventing and controlling infectious diseases in health care settings can provide unique insight for improved practice.

(PHILADELPHIA, PA – August 29, 2006) - Nursing2006, the world’s largest direct paid-circulation professional nursing journal, is inviting nurses to participate in a survey about infection control practices. The survey is available online at www.Nursing2006.com; a printed version also appears in the August and September issues of Nursing2006. The results of the survey will be published in an upcoming issue of the journal. Nursing2006 is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, part of Wolters Kluwer Health.

Infection prevention and control are high on patient, nurse, and decision maker agendas. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that in hospitals alone, there are 2 million health care–associated infections causing 90,000 deaths, and costing $4.5 billion in excess health care costs annually.1
