Zito Media Increases Susanville, CA Internet Capacity

Zito Media announces that it has completed the installation of its new 10K Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) in its Susanville, CA system.  A CMTS is the equipment that is installed in a cable operator’s headend that enables the communication over the operators Hybrid Fiber Coaxial Cable network between the cable modems that are deployed in customer’s homes and the internet circuits that are delivered to the headend. 

The new 10K CMTS will enable Zito Media to immediately increase the internet capacity of its cable plant by 300 Mbps.  With additional CMTS cards the new unit is capable of growing capacity to almost 4 Gbps, which should position Zito to deliver a high quality internet service and meet growing customer demand for internet capacity in the future. 

Zito Media acquired the Susanville system from Windjammer Communications in October 2012.  “Since assuming the operations in this system, we have more than tripled the available internet circuit capacity in Susanville and invested thousands in the latest hardware to improve the Internet performance.” said Chris Ruding, Zito Media’s Vice President of Operations.  In October, Zito Media announced that it was increasing its max speeds on its Super Speed and Ultra Speed Internet services.  “Our Ultra Speed Internet Service is more than 20 times faster than most alternative services and is the best option for streaming, downloading, and gaming.”
