PUERTO RICO – WEBWIRE

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., the iconic leader in luxury lodging centered in inspiration to capture, create and inspire life’s most memorable journeys, recently hosted the debut “Literary Summit” as part of the newly formed “Creative Exchange,” a ground breaking program designed to convene the world’s most pre-eminent influencers in the creative arts including film, fine arts, culinary, music, writing and more.

The inaugural Creative Exchange event, hosted exclusively by Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, focused on the state of the publishing industry by bringing together an intimate group of the country’s most acclaimed writers, editors and publishers. The one-of-a-kind program was designed to foster creative and meaningful discussion, allowing the industry’s pre-eminent thinkers the highly unique opportunity to gather together and connect candidly in an exchange of ideas. With a robust program including discussions facilitated by world renowned political influencer, Reza Aslan, and legendary writer Phil Caputo, the time was filled with substantive conversation on the craft of writing, publishing and the future of the industry.

“I found this experience to be invigorating. It’s unusual for writers to convene and discuss common issues in depth – The Literary Summit offers this opportunity very easily,” said participant and acclaimed author of The Kills, Richard House.

The Creative Exchange will host signature events throughout the year exclusively at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, in an effort to create an inspirational haven for thought leaders in art, science, music, writing, theatre and film.

“We were thrilled to host such an exceptional group for our very first Exchange,” said Graeme Benn, vice president of sales and marketing for The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of the Caribbean and Mexico. “The transformative nature of Dorado Beach is an ideal setting for the sharing of ideas and instilling creative inspiration. We are hopeful that this unique program will continue to flourish for many years to come.”

Additional participants in the summit included famed young adult novelists Naomi Novik and Neal Shusterman; Tyson Cornell, founder of Rare Bird Books, and editorial director at Publishers Weekly, Jim Milliot, among others.

The ideal choice for a small group retreat and situated on 1,400 acres of the former Laurance Rockefeller estate, Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is an intimate refuge offering a true sense of barefoot elegance, blending Laurance Rockefeller’s novel environmental design philosophies and modern yet minimal décor. Created as an open-air enclave infused with references to the surrounding natural landscape and diverse culture, Dorado Beach is a true luxury sanctuary designed to allure the world’s most discerning travellers through a bevy of one-of-a-kind lifestyle experiences.
