Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center Announces “Beyond Bollywood” Film Festival

WEBWIRE

The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History will host the Beyond Bollywood Film Festival Saturday, Nov. 15.

The film festival complements the Center’s exhibition “Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation,” which is currently on view in the Natural History Museum. The short and feature-length films—which range from comedies to dramas—explore the daily lives of Indian immigrants and Indian Americans, as well as the cultural connections, exchanges and journeys between the United States and India.

All screenings are free and will take place in the museum’s Baird Auditorium. Seating is open and on a first-come, first-served basis.
