ICCT Senior Fellow, EPA Director Named as Keynote Speakers for SAE International Light Duty Emissions Control Symposium

SAE International announces that John German, Senior Fellow with International Council for Clean Transportation (ICCT), and William Charmely, Director, Assessment and Standards Division, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will deliver keynote addresses at the “SAE International 2014 Light Duty Emissions Control Symposium.”

The event, which will be held Dec. 9-10 at the Troy Marriott in Troy, Mich., USA, will serve as a platform for industry leaders who are seeking to establish global strategies for emissions control and compliance with EPA Tier 3 regulations and their resulting effects.

German will speak at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9. His presentation is titled, “Perspectives on Worldwide Light-Duty Regulations and Technical Approaches for Attainment.”

Charmley will speak at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10. His presentation will focus on EPA regulations.

The technical sessions comprise in-depth presentations, industry speakers and panel discussions, and include topics that are relevant to today’s emissions professionals, including:

·         A Review of Current ODB Methods for Gasoline and Diesel Cars, Approaches for Fuel Systems, and Unmet Needs – John Van Gilder, General Motors Co.

·         Durability of Light Duty Diesel and Gasoline Emission Control Systems – Christine K. Lambert, Ford Motor Co.

·         System-Level Approaches to Mitigate the Formation and Emission of Particles from Gasoline DI Engines – Michael Mosburger, Robert Bosch LLC
