PALO ALTO, Calif. – (September 18, 2014)— Today, Osmo , the hardware gaming device for kids that connects to any iPad, is announcing the launch of its online platform MyOsmo. Accessible at,  the online platform enables players to create their own Osmo content. MyOsmo transforms anyone into a game designer, starting by giving anyone the opportunity to customize its flagship Word game.

The company is also announcing the initial shipment of its device, starting just 4 months after a hugely successful pre-sale campaign that garnered more than $2 million in pre-orders. Already over 2,000 schools have pre-ordered Osmo, adding to the hundreds of teachers and kids from over 150 schools across 10 different countries who piloted Osmo during the beta program.

MyOsmo allows you to become the content creator, starting with its Words game:

  • Access from any computer or even the iPad. Users can upload images and enter new sets of words and content magically appears into the Osmo game on iPad.

  • Capture new pictures directly from your iPad and play with them a few seconds later. Learning your classmate names will never be the same and now it is fun with Osmo by mapping students faces with their names.

  • Using the existing alphabet, Words can be expanded to over 23 languages.

  • Once you are proud of your creation you can share it to for everyone to enjoy. Anyone can go to MyOsmo to find the latest creations and tips from the community.

  • 15 Easy to download pre-populated albums from as simple as colors to scientific facts to classic childrens books.

Osmo is also announcing a Junior mode in Osmo Words for beginning users (Pre-K, K) to learn the ropes before moving onto the increasingly harder levels.

In classrooms or at home, MyOsmo’s potential is endless. Using content from their textbooks, teachers can build themed albums, turning learning into a fun and interactive experience for kids.
