Allegheny Health Network Welcomes Surgical Oncologist Suzanne Schiffman, MD; Practice Focuses on Treatment of Complex Abdominal Malignancies

Allegheny Health Network is pleased to welcome Suzanne Schiffman, MD, a board-certified general surgeon and surgical oncologist with particular expertise in the treatment of complex abdominal malignancies including cancerous conditions of the liver, bile duct, pancreas, stomach, small bowel, colon and peritoneum. Her practice includes the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques in malignant and benign gastrointestinal disease. 

Dr. Schiffman is specialty-trained in liver, bile duct and pancreatic surgery. In addition, she performs cytoreductive surgery in combination with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) when indicated for peritoneal metastases.  

Dr. Schiffman earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed her surgical residency at the University of Louisville where she served as chief administrative resident. In addition, Dr. Schiffman completed fellowships in both surgical oncology and hepatobiliary surgery at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Schiffman is on staff at Allegheny General Hospital and West Penn Hospital.
