Fujifilm to Support NBCF Mission with Donations, Pink Products and Cause Related Marketing Program

Dallas, TX, August 24, 2006 - The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) announced a collaboration today with Fujifilm that will support NBCF’s mission to save lives through breast cancer education and programs that provide for the screening of underserved women. Fujifilm will support the effort through a monetary donation; donations of digital mammography equipment; and a cause-related marketing program supported by newly introduced pink-themed cameras.

“We are pleased to be partnering with such a well-known company as Fujifilm, and for the first time adding a medical company to our list of partners,” commented Janelle Hail, Founder and President of NBCF. Hail, a breast cancer survivor of twenty-five years, continued, “This year more than 211,000 new cases of breast cancer are expected in the United States, and availability of screening mammography has been shown to reduce mortality by 20 to 30 percent. With the support of Fujifilm, we look forward to helping save more lives.”

“The NBCF was the clear choice for us when selecting a breast cancer charity,” said Fujifilm Medical Systems President and CEO Makoto Kawaguchi. “Until there is a cure for breast cancer, there is no goal more laudable than that of the NBCF - to promote the importance of early detection and to bring mammography to women who otherwise wouldn’t have access to it. The people at Fujifilm are proud to be a part of this effort and hope that we will have a noticeable impact on women’s health in the United States,” Kawaguchi stated.

Fujifilm will contribute $250,000 to NBCF and will also donate two of their world-leading digital mammography systems, Fuji Computed Radiography for Mammography (FCRm). FCRm recently received FDA approval for sale in the United States.
FinePix Z3

In addition, Fujifilm will be providing NBCF with a donation from the sales of two new products – a pink FinePix Z3 digital camera, and a pink QuickSnap 800 Flash One-Time-Use Camera created to generate mammography awareness. Packaging for both cameras will display the NBCF logo and mission as well as information on the cause-related program to promote annual mammography screening.
