“Creativity and the brain” Workshop to Teach Brain Science and Development Creativity to Preschool and Early Elementary Teachers

Sausalito, CA – WEBWIRE

On October 9, the Bay Area Discovery Museum and its Center for Childhood Creativity will host preschool and early elementary teachers for a three-hour workshop on “Creativity and the Brain.”This workshop will serve as a pre-conference day for the Project Zero Perspectives conference “Making, Thinking, Understanding” in San Francisco. The conference invites educators to reflect deeply on ways to create and sustain engaging, enriching and rigorous learning opportunities.

Educators intuitively understand that active, exploratory learning leads to deeper engagement, stronger problem solving and enduring understanding. Advances in brain imaging and research on the neuro-science of creativity are helping us understand why this is. This interactive “Creativity and the Brain” workshop will teach the seven Critical Components of Creativity and the underlying brain structures associated with them. Participants will come away with research-backed, practical tips and tools for the preschool or early elementary classroom to ensure that the pedagogy reflects the latest in brain science and development creativity.

Registration for “Creativity and the Brain” is available online at Bay Kids Museum.org/store/events. You do not need to be registered for the Project Zero conference to attend the workshop.
