VeriFone and STS Partner To Provide Flexible Multi-Application Solutions For Integrated Retail Systems

STS Software Enhances Retail Systems Connectivity and Application Flexibility for GPRS, Wi-Fi and Ethernet Versions of Vx Solutions

LONDON, UK - August 22, 2006 - VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced an additional EMV-approved software solution that enables retail systems integrators such as Comms XL, IBM, YESpay and Fujitsu to offer VeriFone’s complete product portfolio to their customers.

The software solution, developed in partnership with Smart Technology Solutions Ltd (STS), extends the integration capabilities of VeriFone’s product solutions. The solution leverages STS’ SmartNS software framework to provide an EMV link to integrated retail systems. In addition, when coupled with the option to run multiple applications, the solution provides the merchant with complete and total flexibility over their VeriFone payment systems, enabling the addition of new applications without the need to re-integrate devices.

VeriFone’s integration partners can also utilise STS’ recently launched Hostlink application, designed specifically for the hospitality industry. Hostlink offers a complete package of integrated functionality for this environment, including full payment at the table, bill splitting, multiple payment methods (cash, card, voucher and cheque), tipping, cash-back, and printing receipts. VeriFone’s Vx 670 – the industry’s smallest all-in-one wireless payment system – is ideal for virtually any mobile payment application, and is highly suited to the growing pay-at-the-table application, where systems are handed over to patrons to swipe or insert their own cards and enter PINs. VeriFone recently announced that the Vx 670 has achieved the Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards established by Visa International and MasterCard International.
